Wildcats Lax Breaks Away From Tie Game To Beat Monroe-Woodbury

CENTRAL VALLEY – Warwick High School owned the fourth quarter on Wednesday, pulling away in the final frame for a 14-10 boys lacrosse win over Monroe-Woodbury.

The match was tied at 9-9 going into the fourth quarter before the Wildcats outscored the Crusaders 5-1.

Eric Ormsby led Warwick with five goals. Kenton Mears, Noah Daigle, Jay Hranitz and Chris Malota all had two goals apiece.

Sam Steng came up big in that final frame, and finished with 12 saves to help the Wildcats improve to 9-2 overall.

Monroe-Woodbury was led by a game-high six goals from Danny Fitzpatrick. Timmy Philbin, Kyle Rafferty, Sean Ryan and Javier Lacen had a goal each.

Thomas Dickson had 15 saves.
